The Tickle Monster

Have you ever heard of the tickle monster? He is similar to the cookie monster, only he's not furry and, um, doesn't eat nearly as many cookies. Oh, and the tickle monster is black, unlike the cookie monster, who is blue.

I wanted to warn other babies who may meet with the tickle monster in the future. There are several very effective ways to survive your encounter.
Of course, the first and most polite thing to do is ask nicely for a cease-tickle. You can see, here, though, that this smile indicates a non-compliance with my request.

Second, playing dead is one of the most preferred ways to avoid tickle monsters in the animal kingdom. Here, I affect a relaxed, aloof pose. Pretty good, huh?

If playing dead does not work, your next step will be to act confused and bewildered. This non-enjoyment just might result in tricking the tickle monster into stopping.

If, on the off-chance, faking confusion does not work and the tickle monster starts to move toward the jugular, you should consider bursting out in laughter. Very often when this happens, the tickle monster believes his task is finished.

Sometimes, nothing works to dissuade the tickle monster from tickling you. The thing to do at those times is to go with it.
