Least Restrictive Environment
Did you know that individuals with disabilities are entitled to an education in the least restrictive environment? Well, I am claiming this right for babies as well, since every moment of their lives they receive an education. I have proposed to my mommy that in the future, she always ensure full inclusion in any activity. The following is an example: Say a baby has been taken outside so the adults in her life can enjoy the arrival of spring. She can't walk, yet, so they place her in an exersaucer like the one below. Well, because babies are entitled to an education in the least restrictive environment, my proposal is that the adults instead allow the baby to play with them. The LRE in this instance is most likely the lawn table. A full inclusion scenario would probably allow the baby to join in the card game, too. And of course, love is a must-have in every educational setting. Be sure to capture that love with a camera. Additionally, every student, er, baby, should be informed of the camera's position: This enhances the learning activity....
